THE BEGINNING OF THE STORY
Solčava, an ancient village on the threshold of immense beauty
Solčava is a small alpine village located in the narrow and deep valley of the Savinja river, in the Upper Savinja Valley, in the lap of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and the Karavanke mountains. Both the start and the end of the Solčava panoramic road are located within the village. The village’s special market-style architecture represents the essence of Solčava’s urbanity. In 2009 the village was awarded the title ‘European Destination of Excellence’ (EDEN) . Solčava is also the centre of the municipality of the same name.
Center Rinka is a multi-purpose centre for the sustainable development of the Solčava region. It also serves as a tourist information centre for visitors to the Solčava region and offers various content that provides visitors with an insight into the exceptional natural and cultural values of the Solčava region. It is located in the village of Solčava, 5km from the entrance to the Logar Valley Landscape Park.
