The Solčava panoramic road is like the experience of first love.
It is unique in its beauty as it leads you through the pearls of Solčava’s natural and cultural heritage with breathtaking views of dizzying peaks and beautiful valleys and past self-sufficient high-altitude hospitable farms that have been producing what nature offers and man creates with love. Shepherd boy Krištof leads you in the footsteps of his lost sheep from lovely Solčava along the path of strong masters and their shepherds, with twenty unforgettable stops along the way, through most of Solčava, which, in addition to the village of Solčava itself, also covers the Logar Valley, the Robanov kot and Matkov kot valleys and Podolševa. It guides you through the timelessness of experiences with the mystique of old stories about Lintver the dragon and the creation of these mysterious places full of originality.
Access
Depending on your mode of travel, you can choose to spend as much time as you have available – a short day trip, a full-day trip or a multi-day trip:
• Take. a short.day trip. along the central 21km part of the route, where there are 12 stops .(green on the map). The path mostly runs along an asphalt road, only a small part is on a macadam trail.
• In the context of daytrip, you can continue along the road leading to Matkovy kota, which is 8 km long and has three stops (blue on the map) and offers a magnificent view of this glacial valley.
• If you are planning a 2-day stay,.in addition to the central part of the trail, you can walk 6km along the road leading to the Bukovc farm (Bukovnik) then continue a further cca. 30 minutes on foot to the mountain pasture in Grohot. (orange on the map).
• For a multi-day visit to the Solčavský region, the Solčavská panoramic road is also a wonderful starting point for a variety of thematic, walking and easy hiking trails, of which there are a dozen in total (the broken trail on the map).
• Entry points: The Solčava panoramic road has four entry points. These are: Solčava, the Logar Valley, Zgornje Sleme from the Carinthian side, and the international Pavličevo sedlo (Pavlič pass) border crossing from Austria.

WHAT TO SEE AND DO ALONG THE WAY
Along the way you will find high-lying farms that offer accommodation, delicious food and culinary specialities, as well as many natural and cultural attractions and a variety of activities. Along the panoramic road there are 20 points of interest and and an 15 additional theme, walking and easy mountain trails. There are numerous information and panoramic boards to help with navigation.
You are constantly accompanied by exceptional views. So, take your time, hiking poles in hand, breathe in the fresh air and set off to experience the Solčava panoramic road.
