The way to
cave bear and ice age hunter
Lintver reminds the shepherd at Rogar’s that every shepherd must have a whistle to call the sheep, and explains to him that people older than his father were already blowing whistles. If he doesn’t believe it, he should go on foot to the Potočka zijavka, where people have lived from time to time and left behind the world’s oldest sewing machine. But before that, he should make himself a flute and eat Rogar’s homemade jam and bread, so that he doesn’t get knocked over by every fly.
"At Rogarjev"
The Rogar Tourist Farm is situated at the foot of Mount Olševo, at an altitude of 1250 m, making it the highest tourist farm with accommodation in Slovenia. It is surrounded by forests and meadows, and in fine weather you can overlook the Kamnik-Savinja Alps with Raduha and Olševa from the farm. The area is truly full of surprises, as it is located in a Natura 2000 protection area, where animal and plant species that are already rare or even endangered are a delight. The Bear Trail leads past the farm to the archaeological site of Potočka zijavke, through which you can enter the time of the cave bear and the Cro-Magnon man and learn about their way of life.
