our heritage and legacy
Stans were called pastures for cattle, especially cows. There was therefore also a shepherd’s hut, a tent for a shepherd and a shepherdess. In the more remote sheep pastures, the shepherd sometimes had an emergency roof under which to shelter for the night. … In Logarski kot there was the Logarski stan, in Okrešlje the Ložečki, or Shepherd’s… Other farms had sufficiently large pastures within the boundaries of their rounded estates, or they let their livestock graze on other larger pastures and stans. (Valent Vider, Notes on Solčava and its surroundings)
Logarski kot pasture farm
The Logarski kot plant farm is located in a clearing below the Planjava cliffs in the upper part of the Logarska dolina Landscape Park. It was once a mountain outpost, a pastoral farm and a partisan hospital, but today it is an idyllic cottage serving exceptionally tasty homemade food. In addition to traditional Solčava delicacies, you will also be impressed by the homeliness of the beautifully landscaped garden and the cosy atmosphere by the fire in the indoor dining room. On their shelf you can also find homemade products prepared in the planšaria
