In August 1932, King Alexander of Yugoslavia, who had his hunting residence in Bohinjska Bistrica, came to the Logar Valley in the company of King George V of England via the Kamnik Saddle. Together with his entourage, they stayed at the Plesnik Hotel with the hotelier, Franz Plesnik, and, among other things, enjoyed a hearty Savinja stomach. King George V liked this meat so much that from then on, Savinja stomach was regularly sent from the Logar valley to the English court. Two wooden boxes were specially made for this purpose – one full on the way to London, the other empty on the way from London to Plest. A private car regularly came from the English Consulate in Zagreb to collect the tasty parcels, which were then taken to the airport, where the parcel of Savinja stomach was flown to London.”
