our heritage and legacy
On 1.7.1909, Count M. Clary Aldringen, Regional Deputy from Graz, visited the Logar Valley. The lunch prepared for him cost 36 crowns. Fran Kocbek was also present. The Count promised to advocate the building of a road from Solčava to the Logar Valley and on to Carinthia. The Gornji Grad District Representation, meeting on 23.7.1909, decided to support the construction. On 21.8.1909 it submitted the request to the Regional Committee under No 285. Dr. Frischauf and Janez Piskernik, P.d. Plesnik, had already examined and planned the intended road to Carinthia. Finally, in 1914, the Regional Building Office laid out the road from Solčava to the Logar Valley, but the construction was prevented by the war (Valent Vider, Solčava).
