our heritage and legacy
Vid Strgar- Fida. He was born on 15 June 1836 on a small farm in Datelš, now abandoned, and died on Good Friday, 15 April 1922. It is not known how long he attended schools. He probably left school because of lack. He wrote several medical books and was a counsellor in various troubles of life. He was credited with magical knowledge and power. For example, he would go to the church in the middle of the night to light the organ while the woodcutter had the key and naturally wondered who lit the candles and the organ in the church in the middle of the night… (Valent Vider, Notes on Solčava and its surroundings).
