The Solčava Panoramic Route runs in the Solčava region, on the border between Slovenia and Austria, in the basin of the Savinja River. in the Upper Savinja Valley, in the lap of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and the Karavanke Mountains. It guides us through the pearls of nature, with breathtaking views of soaring peaks and beautiful valleys, while revealing stories of the coexistence of unspoilt nature and human creativity.

How to get there?
The Solčava Panoramic Route, which is 37 km long, can be reached by car, motorbike, bicycle or on foot.
You can choose your route depending on how you travel and how much time you have:
Shorter day trip
For a short day trip, follow the central part of the trail, with 12 stops along the 21 km(green on the map). The trail is mostly on an asphalted national road, with only a small part on gravel.
Day trip
As part of the day trip, you can continue along the road leading to the Matkov kot, which is 8 km long and has three stops (blue on the map), offering a magnificent view of this glacial valley.
Two-day trip
If you stay with us for at least one extra day, you can, in addition to the main part of the trail, follow the road leading to Bukovc Farm (Bukovnik) for 6 km and walk for half an hour to the mountain in Grohot(orange on the map).
Multi-day trip
For a multi-day visit to the Solčava region, the Solčava Panoramic Route is also a wonderful starting point for a variety of thematic, walking and easier hiking trails, of which there are a dozen in total (the dashed trail on the map).
What does the route offer?
Along the way, you’ll find high mountain farms offering rooms for the night, delicious meals and special culinary specialities, as well as numerous natural and cultural attractions and a wide range of activities.20 waypoints and 15 additional thematic, walking and easy mountain trails. Numerous information and panoramic boards to help you along the way.
And the views along the way are exceptional. So take your time, stick in your hand, breathe in the fresh air and put the trail under your feet.
Entry points
The Solčava Panoramic Route has four entry points. These are Solčava, the Logar Valley, Zgornje Sleme from the Carinthian side and the Pavličevo sedlo international border crossing from Austria.
