One of the most beautiful Alpine valleys in Europe
The Logar Valley is one of the most beautiful glacial Alpine valleys in Europe, set in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. As part of the Solčava region, it combines nature, tradition, and a strong focus on sustainable development.

A valley worth visiting in every season
This remarkable valley was declared a landscape park in 1987 for its many natural and cultural attractions.
The Logars Valley Landscape Park is part of the Logarska dolina – Solčavsko Destination, which has been awarded the Gold Label of the Slovenian Green Tourism Scheme. It contains 43 natural values, and the park itself is an ecologically important area. It is also part of a Natura 2000 site.
The Logar Trail
The Logarska Trail is a natural-ethnographic trail that leads through beautiful corners of the preserved nature and culture of the Logar Valley Landscape Park.
Among them are the second spring of the Savinja, mighty rock boulders, the Olcar and charcoal fairy, a hunting lodge, a giant juniper and many others, with the Rinka waterfall being the highlight of the trail.
About a kilometre after the point where you enter the Logarska dolina, you will see wooden signposts on the right before you cross the bridge. The 7 km route will take you about 2 to 2.5 hours (one way). You can join the route at several points along the valley to shorten the trip if you wish. What does the route offer?
Discover outstanding natural values (Rinka Waterfall, Palenk Waterfall, Logar’s linden tree, the larch tree at Klemenča jama, Črna Spring).
Discover the wealth of mountain flowers, many of them rare or even endangered species, and the fauna. The Logar Valley is the habitat of the golden eagle, the peregrine falcon, chamois and ibex, and the Solčava sheep on the mountains.
Visit the Chapel of Christ the King, designed in 1930 by the famous architect Jože Plečnik on the initiative of farmers from the Logar Valley and the present chapel is the work of architect Martin Golob.

Adventures in the Alps
The Logar Valley is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts – in all seasons! In summer, you can go hiking and cycling, conquer the peaks of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps or explore the natural-ethnographic Logar Valley Trail.
If you prefer an adrenaline rush, there are climbing walls, armchair hunting, paragliding and archery. In winter, the valley comes alive in white – enjoy cross-country skiing, cross-country skiing, tobogganing.

In the Logar Valley, every bite is intertwined with tradition. Try the famous Savinja gizzard, homemade cheeses and butter, buckwheat groats and strudels, carefully prepared by the locals. Don’t miss the authentic masovník and the cheese soup, which have been part of Solčava’s culinary heritage for centuries. For those with a sweet tooth, homemade jams, cakes and compotes are available.
