Jis a multifunctional centre for the sustainable development of the Solčava region, bringing together different activities for the sustainable development of the area and bringing new development opportunities. In the basement there is a tourist information point for visitors to the Solčava area.

WELCOME TO CENTER RINKA
The Rinka Centre’s central cell is a multi-purpose hall for multimedia presentations, lectures, trainings, seminars, workshops, guest exhibitions or small cultural events.
A circular permanent exhibition on the life and nature of the Solčav region, entitled Solčavsko – a walk in the lap of the Alps, takes us on a walk from the house to the house, to the yard to the wood and the sheep, to the forest, to the stream, to the mountain lawn, to the rocks and to the mountains.
On the ground floor, there is an exhibition and sales area for products from the Solčav region and beyond.
The bright space is warm with furnishings made of mountain larch and spruce wood, the feeling of softness is connected with decorative and useful wool objects, and the pleasant smell and taste are added by the original culinary offer.
The exhibition and sales corner, tasting, bar, reading, internet and children’s corner are complemented by the following contents in a single space.
The first floor houses the premises of the Municipality of Solčava. The attic houses the offices for the Rural Development Incubator, with the possibility of using the common areas and equipment for administration (telecentre). The premises are intended for the activities of businesses, associations and other organisations from the Solčava region.
By exhibiting and selling local products, the aim is to encourage the use of quality:
- products made from Solčava mountain wood,
- products made from the wool of indigenous sheep of the Lake Solčava breed,
- products made from indigenous stone - Solčava marble,
- food products from Solčava farms.
The facility is managed by the Rinka Centre – an institute for tourism and sustainable development of the Solčava region, established by the Municipality of Solčava.
The Rinka Centre is intended for people and organisations with an idea and desire for entrepreneurial or artistic creation, intergenerational socialising and heritage preservation, which give an important impulse to the sustainable development of the Solčava region.
Here, locals, visitors and experts are confronted with the same key themes:
– the beauty of nature and its protection,
– traditional values and heritage conservation,
– quality of life,
– sustainable use of natural resources.
Mission and vision of the Rinka Institute
The mission of the Rinka Center Public Institute is to promote sustainable tourism and the development of Solčava as a green boutique destination, while its vision is to lead the organization toward responsible and balanced tourism with added value and to maintain its position as a leading promoter of authentic Alpine experiences.
Mission
The Rinka Institute was established by the Municipality of Solčava with the aim of developing and promoting tourism in the Solčava region. This includes playing a leading role in sustainable, green tourism, destination management, providing information to visitors, organizing events, projects, and economic activities (e.g., the Rinka café with local products, contractual postal services). The company’s mission is to revive and responsibly build on the centuries-old tradition of sustainable living of our ancestors. The Rinka Center successfully conducts tourist guides, organizes traditional events aimed at preserving natural and cultural heritage and supporting year-round tourism, promotes various forms of sustainable mobility, and strengthens the promotion of local providers, confirming its commitment to preserving natural and cultural heritage.
Vision
The vision for the development of the village of Solčava is a connected mountain community where responsible and balanced tourism brings value to everyone. Through tourism, we improve the quality of life, the environment, and the appearance of our surroundings, sell local products at home, give young people prospects for living and working at home, and nurture our identity and pride in our region.
The vision is a long-term plan for effective internal organization, staffing and financial reinforcement, and active implementation of green initiatives (e.g., Slovenia Green Destination). The vision sees the Center Rinka Institute as a key player in the transition to high added value tourism, where the products developed by Center Rinka will attract visitors all year round, extend the season, and increase the revenue of the local economy, while preserving the natural balance of the Alps.
The Center Rinka logo is very eloquent. It looks like the sun.
In the middle there is a circle – a central ring – around which there are droplets that flow to the centre. In a different view, these are arrows pointing outwards from the centre.
All this symbolises the close connection between the centre and its surroundings. There are eight droplets around the centre, which is a symbol of infinity and indicates a continuous exchange of materials, ideas and information between the centre and the environment.
Sustainable lifestyle is the main thread of the efforts of the (co-)workers of the Rinka Centre and the Municipality of Solčava, and it is this integration that is at the heart of the idea of sustainable development.
