In order to preserve this precious space for future generations, we invite you to respect our sustainable rules of behaviour. Following these ten simple guidelines helps to protect the environment, respect the local community and preserve the authenticity of our destination.
Hiking trails and marked paths
Walk on marked paths and respect natural boundaries – this protects vegetation, prevents erosion and contributes to the safety of yourself and others.
The silence of nature
Enjoy the peace and quiet. Noise disturbs wildlife and reduces the quality of the experience for you and other visitors.
No waste
Take back what you bring with you. Don’t leave waste in the wild, even organic waste – it can change the eating habits of wild animals.
Camping and campfires
Camping is only allowed at designated sites. Fires in the open air are prohibited as they can quickly start fires.
Keeping water clean
Rivers, streams and lakes provide habitat for many organisms. Do not use detergents or other chemicals and do not enter waters where this is not allowed.
Animal care
Do not feed wild or domestic animals, as this can harm them. Always keep pets on a lead so they do not disturb wildlife.
Respect for local people
Solčava is home to many people who live and work here. Respect their privacy, homesteads and farmland.
Preserving cultural heritage
Admire our rich history and traditions, but do not interfere with cultural monuments, pastures or other heritage sites.
Moving responsibly in the mountains
Only go into the mountains properly equipped and with respect for nature. Inform yourself about weather conditions and follow safety recommendations.

Support local providers, choose sustainable transport and opt for experiences that respect nature and the community.

Large buses cannot travel the Solčava Panoramic Road and Matkov kot due to narrow sections and steep turns.
Please take this into account when planning your route.
